Leona and Jerry Dempsey Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Leona and Jerry Dempsey upon Dr. Leona Dempsey’s retirement after 15 years as an associate professor primarily teaching mental health nursing for the UW Oshkosh College of Nursing. Applicant must be enrolled in the traditional BSN program at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must be a female, non-traditional (age 25 or older) student with sophomore or junior standing. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or a legal immigrant with a green card. Applicant must have filed the FAFSA and must not be the recipient of any other scholarship or any form of grant. Applicant may qualify or be the recipient of privately obtained or federal or state loans, subsidized or non-subsidized. This award will be split evenly between the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters. If the recipient is not enrolled in the spring semester, the second installment will be forfeited.
