The Betty L. Griesbach Scholarship was established in 1999. Betty Griesbach first began teaching in a one-room country school in her late teens, after attending normal school. She taught for several years, before leaving to devote her time to raising a family. After her children had grown, Betty attended the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, graduating in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in special education. She subsequently taught special needs children in the Brandon School District until her retirement in 1989. For Betty, the most enjoyable part of this experience was the time spent in the classroom, teaching and learning from her students. Betty passed away in 1996.
