Bruce Stevenson

Bruce Stevenson graduated from UW Oshkosh in 1976 with bachelor’s degree in biology. He established the Wolfgang P. Kowalski Scholarship in 2007 in honor of Wolfgang’s life.

Wolfgang Paul Kowalski was born in Wiesbaden, Germany on August 5, 1951. He came to Oshkosh at the age of 14. He attended high school in Kewaunee and then the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. He became a U.S. citizen in 1979. Wolfgang was a true “Life Force.” He created a magnetic energy and optimism for those around him. Wolfgang was a true joy to have in your day. He reminded all of us to enjoy life’s journey and the people around you; that you have choices. One choice is to accept the challenges, determine to set them aside from time to time, and make each day the best you can. He had a natural enthusiasm, sweetness, and innocence about him and yet he somehow managed to always be the rascal. His spirit of youth brought out the youth in spirit we all need.
