Dan & Stephanie McCoy
Dan & Stephanie McCoy established the Robert J. McCoy Scholarship in memory of Dan’s father, who as a teacher, coach, and school superintendent motivated countless young people to explore and embrace learning in all its forms and fashions.
A first-generation college attendee, Bob was given an opportunity by the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh to earn his college degree after serving in the U.S. Air Force. Married, with a young family while enrolled at UWO, Bob balanced the demands of work and class while earning his degree. He went on to earn his master’s degree from Illinois State University. Bob was a teacher and administrator who made educating and helping children the focus of his career. After initially teaching at Onarga Military Academy in Illinois, he moved into administration, serving as superintendent of schools in Scales Mound, Illinois and then in the same capacity for many years in Shiocton, Wisconsin. Bob passed away in 2018.
