Don & Rose Kutchera

Don Kutchera (1914-2010) was a civil engineer employed by Kimberly Clark from 1944 until his retirement in 1981. He had numerous patents and worked as a consultant on Yankee Dryers, of which he was considered one of the top experts in the world. Don served in many public positions in Oshkosh including: Oshkosh School Board Member 1971-1975; Oshkosh City Councilman 1975-1987, serving two years as Mayor; Trustee and Treasurer for Christ Lutheran Foundation 1983-1987; as well as membership on many city boards and serving in multiple leadership positions for Christ Lutheran Church from 1956 to 1987. He was one of the individuals instrumental in the passage of anti-smoking laws put in place in Oshkosh. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Cum Laude) in 1937 and his Master of Science Engineering in 1969.

Rose Kutchera (1911-2005) was born in Oshkosh. She was an employee of Lenox Candle Co. and was a past chairwoman of the Winnebago Homemakers Club. Rose volunteered at the YMCA and other organizations. Don and Rose were married in 1955 and they established the Don and Rose Kutchera Scholarship in 1985.
