Dorothy Stockton

Dorothy Stockton (1929-2013) established the George Stockton Award in 1990, in memory of her husband.

Professor emeritus George Stockton served the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s Special Education Department from 1970 to 1984. He was chair of the Department from 1977 until 1983. George taught special educational training programs for teachers in four primary areas: early childhood for the physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, and the emotional disabilities. He was formerly the Director of Special Education and Pupil Services in the Madison Public School System.
