Dr. Barbara Herzog
Dr. Barbara J. Herzog knew from an early age that she wanted to become a teacher. She spent over 45 years as a teacher, building level administrator, central office administrator, and school board member serving Wisconsin public school students, staff, and community members. Dr. Herzog earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh where she also served as an adjunct instructor and the director of an alternative teacher licensure program in the College of Education and Human Services. She devoted her professional career to serving students, staff, and the community in four Wisconsin school districts and was interested in making positive impacts on student learning.
Dr. Herzog established the Dr. Barbara J. Herzog Scholarship in 2019 because she was humbled and grateful to have launched a successful career in education built on the efforts of others who contributed to scholarships that she received as a student. This scholarship allows her to give back and to influence the individuals who will receive the scholarship, their students, and the communities where they live and work. She viewed the scholarship as an investment in the individual as well as the future of our state. She is proud to be an alumna of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and to give back to the University to make positive differences in Wisconsin public schools.
