Dr. Harris N. Liechti
Dr. Harris N. Liechti earned a BA, MA and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. He was a writer, producer, and director for Armed Forces Radio and Television in Hollywood and for the U.S. Office of Education in Washington D.C. In 1968, he joined the UW Oshkosh Radio-TV-Film faculty, teaching television production, film history, educational telecommunications, and telecommunications of the future. He also wrote, produced and directed educational programming and was central in establishing the student organization, International Film Series. One year after his retirement in 1990, he established the Dr. Harris N. Liechti Scholarship, and upon his death in 2002, he left a bequest to enable its continuance.
