The Stanley Larson Scholarship was established in 2003 by Stanley’s family in remembrance of his passion for teaching and literature. Through this scholarship, Stanley’s family hopes to perpetuate his life’s work and to continue to reach students like Stanley did as a professor.
Stanley Larson was an English Professor at UW Oshkosh from 1968 until 1999. Throughout his 38 year career at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Stanley was recognized by both colleagues and students as committed to making a difference to his students and their futures. In addition to teaching composition and literature, Stanley served as department chair.
Stanley always looked for “one special student” that he could nurture and to whom he could impart his knowledge about writing and literature. His infectious enthusiasm and extensive knowledge of books, writing, and literature made him a much sought after instructor and exceptional lecturer.
