Family and Friends of N. Peter and Ruth Nelson
The N. Peter and Ruth Nelson Scholarship was established in honor of N. Peter & Ruth Nelson to support students enrolled in the secondary education program. N. Peter was an associate professor and served as director of the division of secondary education at then-named Wisconsin State College Oshkosh from 1924 until his death in 1962. The University’s Nelson Hall was named in his honor. He earned a master’s degree from Columbia University in 1929. Ruth was an associate professor of sociology, associate dean of students, and dean of women at Wisconsin State College Oshkosh, where she worked from 1956 until 1969.
