Family and Friends of Patti VanderLoop
The College of Nursing established the Patti VanderLoop Scholarship in honor of Patti, who retired just shy of 30 years of service to UW Oshkosh. The establishment of the scholarship was presented to Patti as a surprise at her retirement party.
Patti dedicated her career to enhance the learning of undergraduate nursing students by teaching childbearing health in classroom and simulation settings. She also had a great interest in diversity and taught community health clinical throughout Wisconsin with the accelerated program and in several international settings. During most of her teaching career, Patti also worked in the Birth Center at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center–Appleton. She felt that having current experience was extremely valuable – students could trust her credibility and there were plenty of real-life examples and stories to discuss with her classes. She enjoyed nursing and teaching very much!
Patti graduated from UW Oshkosh in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in nursing and in 1995 with an MSN.
