Family and Friends of Robert Moore

The Robert Moore Scholarship was established in 2003 by his family and friends. Dr. Robert E. Moore (1942-2003) was a bio-chemistry professor at UW Oshkosh and served as chairman of the Chemistry Department. He joined the University faculty when the field of bio-chemistry was a comparatively young discipline. Dr. Moore was a recipient of UW Oshkosh’s Distinguished Teaching Award in 2000. Dr. Moore served his country in the U.S. Army, drafted while doing pure chemical research in the exploratory color group at Eastman Kodak. He was trained as a medical laboratory corpsman. After that experience, he entered the prestigious biochemistry program at Utah State University to complete his undergraduate and graduate coursework. Dr. Moore was a member of the American Chemical Society, and enjoyed fly-fishing, backpacking, sailing, and camping.
