Helen Shure

Helen (Van Wyk) Shure, a native of Appleton, worked for years as a registered nurse in Chicago. She trained as a nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chicago, where she met her husband, Dr. Norman Shure. After her marriage, she moved to Beverly Hills, CA, where she involved herself in several volunteer programs. Helen had a love of classical music, notably operatic, and the beauty of Northern Wisconsin and its wildlife and sparkling lakes. She was also an avid reader. Helen passed away in 1994 and left an estate gift to establish the Helen Shure Nursing Scholarship.
