Jane Ives Albee

Jane Ives Albee graduated from Oshkosh State Teachers College with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education in 1936. She worked for the Oshkosh Board of Education until her retirement in 1977. During her tenure with the Oshkosh school system, she primarily taught fourth grade at Roosevelt School and then at Reed School. Jane was also involved in the Oshkosh Museum Auxiliary, the American Association of University Women, 20th Century Club, and the Retired Teachers Association. Jane passed away in 1998.

Jane established the Jane Ives Albee Scholarship in 1988 to support students majoring in elementary education. She felt very strongly that teachers must set good examples as role models and that sentiment is reflected in her scholarship.
