Jennifer Anderson & Stephanie Donhauser
The Paul S. Donhauser Art-Student Scholarship was established by Paul’s family in 2007 to support art students pursuing a career in art education or studio arts. Paul was always pleased to see aspiring art students developing their skills and talents.
Professor Emeritus Paul Donhauser taught design and ceramics at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh from 1964 until his retirement in 2004. He received the John McNaughton Rosebush Professorship in 1983. Prior to teaching at UW Oshkosh, Paul taught at Illinois State University, Lawrence University, and Madison Area Technical College. Paul received his BA in studio arts and art education from UW-Milwaukee, his MA from UW-Madison, and his Ph.D. from Illinois State University.
In addition to having a passion for teaching and being a great educator, Paul was an accomplished ceramicist and painter. He contributed to numerous publications and authored “A History of American Ceramics.” Paul received many honors in the field of ceramics, most notably a fellowship from the National Endowment for Visual Arts. Paul passed away in 2007.
