John & Linda Schuh
Dr. John Schuh, a distinguished professor emeritus of educational leadership at Iowa State University, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in history at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and his Master of Counseling and Ph.D. degrees from Arizona State University. John’s wife, Linda, earned her bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University, where she minored in history, and a master’s degree from Northern Arizona University.
John and Linda established the John and Linda Schuh History Scholarship in 2017 to support students who exhibit great promise and potential in the field of history. They wanted to give back to the University that prepared John for his graduate studies and for the scholarship support Linda received as a student at Arizona Western College, enabling her to earn her bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
In 2019, they established the John and Linda Schuh Oshkosh Scholar Award to provide a financial award for the student with the best research paper published in the Oshkosh Scholar. John served his profession in various editorial roles from 1977 to 2016.
The established the John and Linda Schuh Student Research & Scholarship Activity Award in 2022. These awards are presented to top students as selected by UW Oshkosh faculty at the annual Celebration of Student Research and Creative Activity. John studied student experiences as part of his administrative and faculty career in higher education over a period of 47 years.
