Lavina Hasson-Mowlds
Lavina Hasson-Mowlds (1928-) graduated from Alexis I. du Pont High School in Wilmington, DE in 1946. She has four children: C. Kevin Hasson, Theodore Hasson, Teresa Hasson, and Paul L. Hasson. Lavina established the C. Kevin Hasson Memorial Scholarship in 1987 in memory of her son.
C. Kevin Hasson (1954-1987) received an associate degree of art from New Mexico State University in 1981 and a bachelor’s degree in political science (1984) and a master’s degree in history (1986), both from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. While in college, he interned at the U.S. State Department in Washington D.C. Kevin was a first lieutenant in the army reserve and served from 1973 to 1977 and received the Good Conduct Medal while stationed in Germany. He married Connie Lu Potratz on July 29, 1980. Kevin passed away from cancer at the age of 32. He was inducted posthumously into the Phi Alpha Theta Honors Club of Historians. His love of history was inspired by his lineage, which included judges, admirals, and Daniel Boone.
