Lucille Tack

Lucille Tack graduated from the Oshkosh Normal School in 1923. Lucille taught high school English and history in Reeseville and Spencer, WI. She was a member of the Marathon County Historical Society and a charter member of the Spencer Women’s Club. She worked on the Spencer Centennial Committee and was instrumental in getting the Red Cross to use Spencer as a bandage making location in WWII. Lucille was also name Citizen of the Year.

Lucille’s husband, Raymond Tack, was an industrialist and showed a great interest in the Spencer School system. The Board of Education named R. J. Tack Auditorium in his honor, the announcement of which was a surprise to him. Raymond passed away in May 1961 and Lucille in May 1994.

In 1992, Lucille established the Lucille & Ray Tack Scholarship to encourage students from her hometown of Spencer, WI to attend UW Oshkosh.
