Mae Yagers

Mae Yagers (1905-1994) was born in Oconto Falls. She married Herbert Yagers in 1927. They were married for 48 years until his death in 1975. Mae was the office manager at the Oshkosh Sausage Company and worked on the Oshkosh City Transit Committee for many years. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ and the Noble Ladies of the Winnebago Shrine Club. Mae established the Herbert C. and Mae Yagers Nursing Scholarship through an estate gift.

Herbert Yagers (1901-1975) owned and operated Center Garage in Oshkosh until his retirement in 1969. He was a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Masonic Centennial Lodge No. 205, Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons No. 15, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Green Bay Scottish Rite Consistory, Tripoli Shrine Temple of Milwaukee, Winnebagoland Shrine Club of Oshkosh, and a past member of the Oshkosh Southside Businessmen’s Club.
