Margaret Randerson

Margaret E. Randerson (1908-1997) was married to Lee Randerson in 1928 until his death in 1984. They had two children, Gene and Sherman. Margaret loved bowling, playing cards, doing needlework, and spending many enjoyable days at their Kelly Lake cottage. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church and a charter member of the Freedom Golden Agers. Margaret established the Dr. Sherman Randerson Memorial Scholarship in 1988 in memory of her son.

Dr. Sherman Randerson (1935-1987) was a professor of biology and microbiology at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh from 1966 to 1987. He received the UW Oshkosh Distinguished Teaching Award in 1982, in recognition of his outstanding record as an exceptionally capable, caring, and dedicated teacher. Dr. Randerson was also twice awarded UW Oshkosh’s James F. Duncan Research Award. Prior to joining the UW Oshkosh faculty, he taught for one year at UW-Stout. He also worked in cancer research in 1960 at McArdle Laboratory at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Randerson graduated from St. Norbert College in 1957 and earned his Ph.D. in genetics and human genetics from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 1965. He was a member of the U.S. National Guard for six years.
