Michael & Kelly O'Brien

Michael O’Brien has served the insurance and investment community for over 28 years and is a well known speaker, as well as practitioner, in the estate planning and business insurance community. He began his insurance career in 1975 with the O’Brien Financial Group, which was a sole brokerage general agency for the Crown Life Insurance Company. When Michael became owner in 1990, the company changed directions, becoming a founding partner of Capitas Financial, LLC and representing several major highly-rated life insurance carriers serving the brokerage needs of the Wisconsin insurance and investment community. Michael graduated from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is also a former member of the UW Oshkosh’s Chancellor’s Advisory Council.

Michael and Kelly established the Michael & Kelly O’Brien Scholarship in 2000. In honor of their commitment to music and the arts, this scholarship supports students pursuing a degree in art or music.
