Michael Kogutek
Michael Kogutek earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 1971. During his time at UW Oshkosh, he was actively involved on campus, serving as a resident assistant, assistant head resident, member of the Reeve Union Board social committee, and chairman of the Reeve Union Board. He continued his education and earned an MA in community and industrial counseling from Eastern Kentucky University in 1974, an Ed.D. in rehabilitation psychology from the University of Northern Colorado in 1977, and a Ph.D. in psychoanalysis from the Newport Psychoanalytic Institute in 1995. Before retiring, Michael ran a private practice, specializing in the treatment of chemical dependency and taught part-time for the human services department at California State University-Fullerton.
Michael was honored by UW Oshkosh in 1979 with the Outstanding Young Alumni Award. He established the Michael D. Kogutek Scholarship in 2014 in appreciation for all that was given to him as a student by UW Oshkosh and the department of psychology.
