Nancy Elsberry
Dr. Nancy Elsberry retired from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 1996, after over twenty years of service. Nancy co-founded the College of Nursing graduate program. This groundbreaking program was the first of its kind for family nurse practitioners in the country and paved the way for College of Nursing to establish a doctoral program in 2006.
During her time at UW Oshkosh, Nancy received the Distinguished Teaching Award in 1989 and was selected for an endowed professorship in 1993. As a nurse leader and educator she set standards and implemented a program designed to improve quality and patient outcomes across primary healthcare settings. Nancy received her MSN from Wayne State University in 1964. Before coming to UW Oshkosh, she completed doctoral studies at the University of Kansas in the nurse scientist program, as there was no doctorate in nursing at that time.
Nancy established the Nancy Elsberry Family Nurse Practitioner Graduate Scholarship in 2013 to support students who show the potential for excellence in practice.
