Edward J. Dempsey and Sadie A. Dempsey Memorial Teaching Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to UWO students who meet the following criteria:

• Enrollment Status: Full-time undergraduate
• Declared Major: Education, must be officially admitted to the Teacher Education Program
• Must not plan to student teach during the 2026-2027 academic year
• Must either be from a family of four or more children or must have at least one child of their own

Selection is based on the applicant’s desire to become an educator.

Award Payment: Split evenly between Fall 2026 & Spring 2027. If the recipient is not enrolled in the required number of credits for the indicated semester, the award payment will be forfeited.

Award Renewal: Recipients are eligible to receive one award renewal beyond the initial installment provided they meet the following criteria:

• Maintain full-time enrollment at UWO
• Continue to pursue an education major
• Sufficient funding is available to support award renewal
