J. Edward Power Award for Academic Excellence in Social Work

This scholarship is awarded to UWO students who meet the following criteria:

• Enrollment Status: Full-time undergraduate
• Declared Major: Social Work
• Recipient must be in their senior year of the BSW program
• Must be in good standing

Students must by nominated for this award by social work faculty members. Self-nominations will not be accepted. Nominations should include a brief essay outlining the nominee’s qualifications for the scholarship and detailing their active involvement in advocating for the individuals they represent. The nomination process is completed outside Academic Works.

Award Payment: Spring 2026. If the recipient is not enrolled in the required number of credits for the indicated semester, the award payment will be forfeited.
