Elinor V. Metzen Mathe Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to UWO students who meet the following criteria:

  • Enrollment Status: Full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate student
  • Declared Major: Any BSE (must be officially admitted to the Teacher Education Program) or MSE

Selection is primarily based on the applicant’s long-term goals and dedication to a career in education. Evidence of outstanding scholarship will also be considered in the selection process. Financial need based on a statement will be of secondary consideration. Preference will be given to students intending to teach at the middle school or junior high school level. Preference will be given to applicants who have left the teaching profession and have decided to return after a lapse.

Award Payment: Fall 2026. If the recipient is not enrolled in the required number of credits for the indicated semester, the award payment will be forfeited.
