Leslie-Allen Fellowship

This scholarship is awarded to UWO students who meet the following criteria:

  • Enrollment Status: Full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate student
  • Declared Major: Biology, Biomedical Science, Environmental Health, or Microbiology
  • Minimum 60 credits completed (undergraduates only)
  • Must have a demonstrated interest in ecology or field biology
  • Must have financial need based on a statement

Selection is based on intended study, scholarship, and financial need.

Award Payment: Fall 2026. If the recipient is not enrolled in the required number of credits for the indicated semester, the award payment will be forfeited.

Supplemental Questions
  1. Please submit a statement describing your interest in the field of ecology or field biology, your career goals, and any experience you have in the field (e.g. research, internship, etc).
  2. Please upload a copy of your Academic Advisement Report. It must include the courses you are enrolled in for the current semester.
  3. Please submit a statement describing your need for financial support to continue your education. Make sure to provide detailed information regarding the resources you have to pay for college (scholarships, loans, VA benefits, employer benefits, etc.), your efforts to fund your education (how many hours you typically work per week, how long you’ve been employed, etc), and your remaining amount of financial need.
