Roy Knispel Physics and Astronomy Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to UWO students who meet the following criteria:

  • Enrollment Status: Full- or part-time undergraduate; preference will be given to full-time students
  • Declared Major: Physics BS or BSE
  • Must be in good standing
  • Must achieve at least junior standing by the payment semester
  • Previous recipients are eligible to apply. However, students may only receive the award two times.

Selection is primarily based on promise of future accomplishment in the field of physics/astronomy. Academic achievement will be of secondary consideration.

Award Payment: Fall 2026. If the recipient is not enrolled in the required number of credits for the indicated semester, the award payment will be forfeited.

  2. Please submit an essay describing your current experience and career goals in the field of Physics and Astronomy.
  3. Please submit a resume detailing your research experience, as well as activities related to your major (both on-campus and off-campus).
  4. Please upload a copy of your Academic Advisement Report. It must include the courses you are enrolled in for the current semester.
  5. Please provide the name and email of an individual (non-relative) who has agreed to serve as a reference to support your application.
