This scholarship is awarded to UWO students who meet the following criteria:

  • Enrollment Status: Full-time undergraduate or incoming freshman or transfer admitted for Summer 2026 or Fall 2026
  • Declared Major: Any discipline other than music (music minors are eligible)
  • Must be an instrumental musician who is accepted into an ensemble group
  • Must have a keen interest in music and must have realistic and identifiable goals for their time at UWO and after graduation
  • Must complete a music scholarship audition. For more information about the scholarship or auditioning, please contact Marty Robinson at robinsm@uwosh.edu.
  • Recipients must take hour-long (two-credit) lessons each semester at UWO

Selection is based on applicant’s inclusion of music and music performance in their lives and how they will continue to do so after graduation. Preference will be given to brass performers.

Award Payment: Split evenly between Fall 2026 & Spring 2027. If the recipient is not enrolled in the required number of credits for the indicated semester, the award payment will be forfeited.

Award Renewal: Recipients are eligible to receive three award renewals beyond the initial installment provided they meet the following criteria:

  • Maintain full-time enrollment at UWO
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA overall and in private lessons
  • Must take hour-long (two-credit) lessons each semester
  • Sufficient funding is available to support award renewal

Recipients are expected to send annual correspondence to the donor describing the impact of the award on their future career plans, their progress as a musician, and some of their favorite performances over the last year (include recordings if available).
