Fredric & Janice Youra Piano Performance Scholarship

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled at the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have a declared music major, with piano as their primary applied instrument. Primary consideration will be given to bachelor of music in performance students. Applicant must achieve at least sophomore standing by Fall 2024. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. In any given year, if two or more applicants meet the award requirements, financial need, based on an essay, may be considered. Previous recipients may apply in subsequent years. However, a student may only receive the award a total of three times. This award will be paid out in Fall 2024.

  1. Is piano your declared primary applied area of study?
  2. Please submit a CV and/or artistic statement including activities that demonstrate commitment to piano performance.
  3. Please submit a short essay addressing your goals, desires, training, and piano performance experience.
  4. Applicant must schedule a jury performance at a time agreed to by the selection committee. Performance repertoire presented for the jury should be no less than 20 minutes and should include a minimum of two different styles. Memorization is required for the entire audition. Please confirm you scheduled a jury performance.
  5. Financial need may be a consideration, but is not the deciding factor for this award. Applicants wishing to address this subject should include a description of their circumstances.
