Joan Luce Scholarship for Orchestral Strings

This scholarship was established through the estate of Dr. Joan Luce, faculty member in the UW Oshkosh music department from 1969 to 1998. Applicant must be an undergraduate student enrolled at or accepted for admission to the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have a declared major or minor in music or music education with their primary applied instrument as orchestral strings (defined as violin, viola, cello, double bass, or harp). Preference will be given to music or music education majors. This award is given at the discretion of the UW Oshkosh Music Department based on the applicant’s audition; no application is required for this award. Applicant must meet the minimum criteria established by the music department for their department-wide scholarship selection process. Provided the recipient maintains the criteria listed above, an overall grade-point average of 3.0 or higher, and funding is available, the scholarship will be renewable for a total of four semesters.
