Advance in Journalism Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to UWO students who meet the following criteria:

  • Admit Term: Spring 2026, Summer 2026, or Fall 2026
  • Admit Type: Incoming Freshman or Transfer
  • Enrollment Status: Full-time upon enrollment
  • Intended Major: Advertising, Multimedia Journalism, or Public Relations
  • Must demonstrate the potential for academic achievement at UW-Oshkosh
  • Must have a demonstrated intent to pursue a career in multimedia journalism, public relations, or advertising through participation in high school, college, and/or other news media
  • Must have overcome adversity to attend college

Selection is based on academic achievement, intent to pursue a career in multimedia journalism, public relations, or advertising, and ability to overcome adversity. Financial need based on an essay may be considered as a deciding factor after other criteria are met.

Award Payment: Fall 2026. If the recipient is not enrolled in the required number of credits for the indicated semester, the award payment will be forfeited.
