Joan Luce Scholarship for Orchestral Strings

This scholarship was established by Dr. Joan Luce, UW Oshkosh music faculty member from 1969 to 1998. This award is given to students enrolled at or accepted for admission to the Oshkosh campus. Applicant must have a declared major or minor in music or music education with their primary applied instrument as orchestral strings (defined as violin, viola, cello, double bass, or harp). Preference will be given to music or music education majors. This award is given at the discretion of the UW Oshkosh Music Department based on the applicant’s audition; no application is required for this award. Applicant must meet the minimum criteria established by the music department for their department-wide scholarship selection process. This award will be split evenly between the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters. If the recipient is not enrolled in the spring semester, the second installment will be forfeited. This award will be renewed for a second year, provided the recipient maintains the criteria listed above, a minimum 3.0 GPA, and funding is available.
