Doug and Carla Salmon Foundation

Doug and Carla Salmon Foundation

Doug and Carla Salmon moved to Appleton in 1972 to work in the medical field and raise their two children. In the late 1990s, they began to explore ways to give back to the community that had been so good to them. They decided that the most meaningful work they could do would be to offer a helping hand to worthy students. In 1999, they began to provide scholarships to highly motivated and financially needy college students.

They established the Salmon Foundation in 2002 and currently provide scholarships to students at UW Oshkosh (both the Fox Cities and Oshkosh campuses), Fox Valley Technical College, and Lakeland University. Doug passed away in November 2017 and Salmon Foundation scholarships are his living legacy that will continue to help students for years to come.
