Donald Leo Netzer Memorial Scholarship
Applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at the Oshkosh campus in the teacher education program with a strong desire to continue their education. Preference will be given to graduate students and full-time undergraduate students. Undergraduate students must plan to student teach in the 2025-2026 academic year and must have a declared major in 1) secondary education in the areas of natural science, social science, geography, geology, or biology or 2) elementary education with a minor in elementary science or elementary social science. Graduate students must have an emphasis in natural science, social science, geography, geology, biology, elementary science, or elementary social science. All applicants must have completed courses in conservation, environmental education, and/or ecology, or the equivalent of these courses. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Financial need based on an essay will be considered, but will not be the dominant criterion in the selection process. This award will be split evenly between the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters. If the recipient is not enrolled in the spring semester, the second installment will be forfeited.
