Eugene & Nancy Winkler Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to UWO students who meet the following criteria:

• Enrollment Status: Full-time undergraduate
• Declared Major: BSE or non-BSE Bachelor’s Degree with at least one parent who is or was a K-12 teacher.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Between 25 and 60 credits completed
• Must have involvement and demonstrated leadership in UWO extracurricular activities (excluding athletics)

Selection is based on academic achievement and involvement and demonstrated leadership in extracurricular activities. Preference will be given to BSE students with a parent who is a teacher. Due to NCAA Division III regulations, athletic leadership, ability, participation, or performance cannot be considered in the awarding of scholarships.

Award Payment: Fall 2026. If the recipient is not enrolled in the required number of credits for the indicated semester, the award payment will be forfeited.

Award Renewal: Recipients are eligible to receive one award renewal beyond the initial installment provided they meet the following criteria:

• Maintain full-time enrollment at UWO
• Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
• Remains enrolled in the School of Education & Human Services (if this is how eligibility was initially determined)
• Sufficient funding is available to support award renewal
