David J. Lippert Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established in memory of David J. Lippert, faculty member in the journalism department from 1966 to 1983. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate at the Oshkosh campus, majoring in journalism with a news-editorial emphasis and a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average. Applicant must achieve at least junior standing by the fall semester of the following academic year. Applicant must have a strong career interest in newspapers and an understanding of the commitment a journalist makes to the ideal of responsible journalism. Selection will be based on quality of the applicant’s statement explaining their career interest in working on a newspaper staff and the applicant’s understanding of how journalists can best commit themselves to the ideal of responsible journalism. Students graduating in the current academic year are not eligible to apply.
