Margaret and David Hodge Scholarship in Art Education
This scholarship is awarded to UWO students who meet the following criteria:
- Enrollment Status: Full-time undergraduate
- Declared Major: Art Education BFA
- Must have passed the post-foundation portfolio review
- Must have completed at least one education methods courses (ART 253, ART 354, or ART 356)
Selection is based on applicant’s promise and potential as an artist and their statement on how their artistic experience will influence their teaching.
Award Payment: Fall 2026. If the recipient is not enrolled in the required number of credits for the indicated semester, the award payment will be forfeited.

- Select any of the following art education methods courses you have completed.
- Have you passed your Post-Foundation Portfolio Review in the Art Program?
- Please upload a copy of your Academic Advisement Report. It must include the courses you are enrolled in for the current semester.
- Please submit an essay responding to the following statement: "Art teachers combine their identities as artists/designers with their roles as educators. Explain how your experience in the studio arts has or will possibly influence your teaching, and if applicable, how your experience in K-12 schools has influenced/informed your art making.'"
- Please provide the name and email of a studio faculty member who has agreed to serve as a reference to support your application. Your reference must speak to your skills, knowledge, work ethic, and vision as an artist/designer.
