Doug and Carla Salmon Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to highly motivated and academically able undergraduates enrolled at the Oshkosh campus who have a demonstrated need for financial assistance. Applicant must have completed at least one semester at UW Oshkosh. Applicant must have filed the FAFSA and must demonstrate need for financial assistance (international students and those not eligible to file the FAFSA are exempt from this requirement). Applicant must be pursuing a degree that leads to a clear, direct career path with a self-sufficient wage upon graduation (not requiring an advanced degree). Preferred majors include nursing, education, business (particularly accounting), or medical technology. Applicant must have a minimum 2.0 GPA.

Preference will be given to single parents, international students, first-generation college students, older students, and those who are overcoming significant financial, social, emotional, or physical barriers to success.

Finalists will be required to interview with a Salmon Foundation staff member before recipients will be determined. Students with a family or employment relationship with any member of the Doug and Carla Salmon Foundation board, staff or scholarship selection committee are not eligible. This award will be paid out in Fall 2023.

Based upon student performance, financial need, and availability of funding, recipients may be eligible to have this award renewed for additional semesters beyond the initial award.
